Abstract: Aluminized BOPP tape has certain functions of heat preservation, heat insulation and moisture resistance. To ensure that the product is not affected by moisture in the environment, the detection of water vapor barrier properties of aluminized BOPP tape should be strengthened. In this paper, the W3/062 water vapor transmission rate test system independently developed by Jinan Languang Electromechanical Technology Co., Ltd. is used to test the water vapor transmission rate of the aluminized BOPP tape samples, and the parameters, application scope and test process of the equipment are detailed. It provides a reference for monitoring the moisture resistance of aluminum-plated BOPP tape related industries.

1, meaning

Aluminized BOPP tape is an ideal protective layer for a new generation of insulation, heat insulation and soundproof building materials. It can partially replace aluminum foil tape, used for outer wrapping materials for insulation layers such as heating and cooling equipment, pipes, and insulation and sound insulation for roofing. 2. Status

At present, the test methods for water vapor transmission rate of materials mainly include cup method, electrolysis method, infrared method and humidity method. Among them, cup method is divided into weight gain method and weight loss method. 4.1 Principle of the test

The weight gain method calculates the water vapor transmission rate of the sample based on the increase in the weight of the moisture permeable cup. The specific realization process is that a desiccant is placed in the moisture permeable cup, the sample is sealed at the mouth of the moisture permeable cup, and the humidity in the test chamber of the device is controlled, so that a certain humidity difference is formed on both sides of the sample, and the water vapor passes through the test chamber. The sample penetrates into the moisture permeable cup to provide power. The water vapor permeating into the moisture permeable cup is absorbed by the desiccant, thereby causing a change in the weight of the moisture permeable cup, and the water vapor transmission rate of the sample is obtained by testing the increase in the weight of the moisture permeable cup over time.

4.2 Scope of application

4.3 Equipment parameters

Two test modes of weight gain method and weight loss method can be realized.

The weighting method test range is 0.1 ~ 2500 g / (m2 · 24h), the weight loss method test range is 0.1 ~ 10000 g / (m2 · 24h), the test accuracy is 0.01 g / (m2 · 24h), the system resolution is 0.001 g.

5. Test process

(1) Three specimens with a diameter of 74 mm were cut from the surface of the aluminized BOPP tape sample.

(2) A certain amount of dried anhydrous calcium chloride was placed in the moisture permeable cup as a desiccant, and the cut three samples were sealed on three moisture permeable cups each containing a desiccant.

(3) Place the moisture permeable cups with the sample specimens on the moisture permeable cup holder in the test chamber of the equipment and close the test chamber door.

(4) In the system software section, set the sample thickness, test temperature and humidity (38 ° C, 90% RH), test time interval and other parameter information, click the test option, the test begins. The device automatically tests the weight of the moisture permeable cup at set intervals, and calculates and displays the test results of the water vapor transmission rate of the sample based on the test data.

6, test results

The water vapor transmission rate test values of the three samples were 3.4478 g/(m2·24h), 3.4215 g/(m2·24h), and 3.4589 g/(m2·24h), respectively.
